The Captivating Tanah Gajah, Ubud

Discover the most photogenic spots of Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana

Let us inspire you with our most instagrammable spots within the resort, recommended by hundreds of avid travellers - just like you!

THE SWAN POND
One of the most beloved spots by our guests is our Swan Pond, which features two white swans from the Netherlands and two black swans from Western Australia. Children and families love to spend time here, interacting with our friendly swans by feeding them pieces of bread. It is best to take photos at around 6:30 – 7:00 am or 5:00-5:30 pm when the sunlight is at its most dramatic.

SERENE GARDENS AND PATHWAYS
The entire grounds of Tanah Gajah Ubud are interconnected with pleasant pathways to meander along, or even take a jog along. All pathways are easily accessible for senior travellers, children and guests with disabilities. Some of these pathways have beautiful surroundings such as lush trees and tropical flora, making them a great spot to capture a beautiful photo in the late afternoon.

THE RICE PADDY FIELDS
Being surrounded by rice paddy fields, while at the resort, gives you the opportunity to pay close attention to the cycle of rice harvesting. It is such a unique experience as you will realize that each phase of cultivating rice has its own charm. For example, right after harvesting season, guests may enjoy the view of herds of Balinese ducks marching around the rice paddy fields hunting for leftover rice grains. After the farmers have ploughed the soil and submerged the field with water, guests may enjoy beautiful photos with reflections at sunrise or sunset, and of course when the rice paddy fields grow into lush green rice paddy fields, it is such a magical view.

MAIN SWIMMING POOL
Tanah Gajah Ubud is blessed with one of the most picturesque swimming pools on the island. The rectangular shape of the pool enhances the beautiful elephant water fountains perched at its edge, overlooking the water lily ponds and the view of Mount Agung in the distance. The blue and green mosaics that adorn our pool blend in harmoniously with the surrounding nature. The most suitable time to shoot is early morning. This is also an ideal spot to capture an epic floating breakfast photo.

SUNKEN BATHTUB AT THE SPA
The herbal bath ritual at Tanah Gajah SPA is one of our guests' most beloved body treatments as they get to enjoy a warm and aromatic bath accompanied by refreshing herbal tea, fresh fruit and canape. Pampering yourself (or share it with your loved one) in our oversize bathtub with a picturesque backdrop of emerald rice paddy fields is certainly the perfect way to release stress and tension as well as to end your day in luxury.

CANDI BENTAR (SPLIT GATES) AT THE AMPHITHEATRE
Split gates are a classical Balinese gateway entrance found at the entrance of temples, houses, religious compounds, palaces, and/or cemeteries. They are also called Angkul-angkul. It is the entrance gates in the form of two similar and congruent structures with symmetrical reflection restricting the left and right side of the entrance. Commonly found in Bali, Java and Lombok, split gates originated from the ancient Hindu kingdoms of Majapahit and Singhasari in Java. At Tanah Gajah Ubud, the magnificent design of our elephant split gates make for a one-of-a-kind background for a photo.

THE BRIDGE AT PANEN PADI
The Bridge at Panen Padi Lounge is one of Tanah Gajah Ubud’s most iconic photo spots. A lot of our guests consider this area as the mini version of Taman Ujung / Water Palace or Tirta Gangga Temple in Karangasem Regency. The surrounding landscape changes colours with the different seasons. Making it a unique spot to take photos in the late afternoon. On a sunny afternoon, you will get a glimpse of the majestic Mount Agung in the distance.

HOT AIR BALLOON
Our hot air balloon is definitely the most iconic photo guests can take during their stay at Tanah Gajah. We are the first and only resort in Bali to operate a hot air balloon flight. The hot air balloon is most popular as a background photo from a leisurely picnic shot to a pre-wedding photo shoot. The balloon heads skyward at the best time of the day for photos: morning flights start at 6:30 am, and evening flights start at 5:30 pm.
